About Me

My name is Kylie Munday, I just turned 15 years old, and I’m in the class of 2024. I’m a setter and a right side hitter for Renovators U17 Red (RVC) and I am  jersey #8. I am 5’10 with a 9’9” jump touch and a 9’4” block jump. I go to Post Falls High School in Post Falls, Idaho with a 4.0 GPA.

I started playing volleyball in the third grade but started competing at a higher level when I was about 12. I made varsity as a freshman where I was able to run the offense as a setter in the back row and be an offensive threat in the front row. I have been voted captain on many of my teams because of my leadership skills, work ethic, and dedication. I am a hardworking, coachable and dynamic player. Because of this I have had the opportunities to play at a higher level. I got the chance to play at a U18 national tournament in Anaheim when I was 12.  I also was asked to play on a U18 team as a 13 year old in the Las Vegas Classic tournament because they needed another setter. When playing with them, I had the opportunity to play with girls on the team who are now playing D1 volleyball.

I am fortunate enough that all of my coaches, Kari Chavez, Trent York, Kady Forbes, and Bret Taylor  have coached college volleyball at the D1 level, along with Payton Douglass who was a DS in a top 25 program. My sister Allison Munday plays D1 volleyball for the University of Idaho. I am so thankful for my sister, she has helped me become the volleyball player I am today. She used to hit balls at me in our backyard when I was about 10. I would get to practice with her team sometimes and she has always been by my side whether it’s with volleyball or outside of volleyball. I also have a ten year old brother and I am very family oriented.

Outside of volleyball I love to spend time with my family and friends. I enjoy spending lots of time on the lake, wake surfing, skiing and hiking. I look forward to continuing my volleyball career at the next level.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile.

Player Evaluation

Kylie is going to be a very good player.  She already is as a freshman.  I have the honor of coaching Kylie for my U17 team this season and she impresses me every day.  I have to constantly remind myself that she is only a freshman.  Kylie also came with my 18s team to Las Vegas when she was a 7th grader.  My starting setter (now at GCU) was coming late and I asked Kylie to fill in for her.  She did awesome.

Kylie is a 5’10” setter/right side.  She legitimately touches 9’9″.  She has high quick hands and runs a fast tempo in our system.  She can set every set I ask her and has done a great job at the “why’s”.  She is making more thoughtful decisions and is learning to set up her hitters to create one on one opportunities.

She runs a 6’2 because we need her arm.  She can hit very well on both pins and I’m not sure she isn’t a better hitter than setter.  Her hand placement on the ball is big and crisp.  She has a very high arm and hits out in front of her with a lot of power.  She hits line and angle well from both pins and also has creative shots.

As a blocker she gets over the net well.  She touches 9’4 on her block touch and she is getting better at setting the block for her middles.  She also has a very tough jump float serve.

She is a very high level athlete who has always played up in age groups.  This year the team voted her as one of the captains so she is respected by her older peers.  She is outgoing and is a great leader by both her voice and her actions.

Kylie has an amazing family.  She is the middle child and her older sister plays for University of Idaho.  I had the opportunity to coach her as well so I have known this family for a long time.  They are nothing but supportive of everyone on the team and will even celebrate great plays on the other side of the net.  Her dad Rob films every one of our matches so the kids can see themselves play and learn from what they see.  They are the ultimate club family.

Kylie will be an early commit if she decides she is ready.  I know she will have multiple Division 1 offers so please let me know if you would like more information on her.  Thank you for your time and consideration.
