Student Athlete Overview
About Me

My name is Aspyn Reed I am 15 years old sophomore at Freeman High School.I’m playing on the varsity team for my school. Freeman is a small rural town outside of Spokane, WA. I started my volleyball journey on U12 at 11 years old for Renovators volleyball ball club. I was new to the sport after being national champion all star competition cheerleader. I quickly realized that my athletic abilities that I gained from 7 years of jumping and tumbling helped me to excel with my jump ability in volleyball. My U12 season was amazing. We won the majority of our games that season and I learned so much about the fundamentals of the game with my coach Shaune Montgomery. The following season I played on U13 and was lucky enough to have the same coach who took me under his wing. I believe he quickly noticed my passion for the game and how coachable and ready to learn I was. My vertical approach was getting better every time I tested it and as I continued to train all summer with coach Shaune I’m now touching 10 feet. My U14 season i played up as a U15. Last season i played U15 again with my own age group to be coached my Kari Chavez, and Kady Forbes to make that transition from a middle blocker to a all around pin hitter. Playing both OH and RS. During my high-school season I lead my team and league in kills and made The 1st all league team as well as being an honorable mention for the WA all state team. This season i’m continuing on play for Kari and Kady on RVC u16 Kari to further grow as a strong pin hitter.
Besides volleyball, I also enjoy track and field. I lettered as a freshman and made it to state in 3 different events as a freshman.
I enjoy School and I currently hold a 3.9 GPA. I love being involved with leadership activities at my school as well such as being my sophomore class president . I also love spending time with my family, especially at our river property in the summer time. I love to wake surf and I love to work out! I do cross-fit type workouts, barre classes, and always finding new workouts to increase my vertical.
I look forward to continuing my volleyball career at the next level and appreciate you taking a look at my profile! Thank you!

Player Evaluation
Aspyn is a very exciting athlete. At 5’9 she legitimately has a jump touch of 10′, consistently. With that jump is a very good arm swing with a lot of snap on the ball. She has always had advanced middle blocker training and has always had good transition footwork and is up very quick in transition. She can hit a ball inside the 10′ line but knows that won’t work as blockers get bigger. She is also a very good blocker. Because of her quickness she closes blocks well and penetrates with her elbows over the net.
Aspyn made the transition from MB to a Pin Hitter for me this past club season and will continue to this club season as well. She has put a ton of focus in her ball control and especially her serve receive passing. She was not trained as a young player in those skills and we are working incredibly hard to make her a great 6 rotation athlete.
Aspyn is incredibly athletic and a lot of that, besides genes, is she grew up doing competitive cheer. She has grown up in an environment of discipline, competition, being precise, and working together. Her mom was in competitive cheer and is now a fitness studio owner. She lives a very active lifestyle and also enjoys wake surfing!
Aspyn will be fun to watch grow. She is already so mature for a young player, shows so much confidence, and is very competitive and loves to be successful. She was our team personality and has so much fun. I have loved having her and when it’s her turn to sit, she is cheering and having a great time on the bench.
I think Aspyn has a ton more upside and I believe if she continues to put the work in she will make a great college athlete. She’s also very good in Track. Please let me know if you have any questions.
