About Me

Hi, my name is Tatum Marang. I attend LaSalle High School in Yakima, WA and my graduating year is 2023. I maintain a 3.7 GPA and after I graduate I want to continue my education and pursue a degree in early education. I would really love to work with younger children and children with special needs. I have a passion of working with kids and along with playing on the U18 Shockwave National Team I also am an assistant coach for a U11 Developmental Team.  I have mainly played MH/MB due to the needs of my teams, but am looking forward to the opportunity to play & learn at either Pin as well.
I have played 7 years of club volleyball for various competitive clubs and three years of competitive beach volleyball. Last year my partner and I won a bid and went to USAV beach volleyball nationals. I have always played as a middle but have been training as an outside hitter as well. Along with my club season, I am working with a trainer two times a week on my vertical and jump training. I also love playing back row (I don’t mind the bruises) and I hold the team-high in kills and digs for my HS team. I would love to play indoor college volleyball and possibly beach volleyball if given the opportunity. My love for volleyball is infinite and I will do anything I can to continue playing and am ready to put in the work. I also am looking for a chance to move outside of Washington and explore other areas of the country.
Thanks so much!

Player Evaluation

Tatum is a 5’11 volleyball athlete that can play anywhere along the net and back row.  Currently she is in the middle because she is the best fit for all the teams she is on to play that position.  She is available on all sets and hits the ball well.  She has a nice arm swing and can put good power on the ball.  She gets her mid forearms over the net on her block as well.  She is a good back row player so I believe she’d be an easy transition to a 6 rotation pin hitter in college.  She also plays beach.  She does a great job on the sand because she has good ball control and makes smart shots.  She would love to go to a program where she could do both, and she is not afraid to move away from home to do so.

Tatum would like to focus on early childhood development.  She is such an incredible young lady who loves to help out younger kids.  She gives lots of her spare time to coach younger volleyball players in her mom’s club.  This has helped Tatum’s IQ of the game to be high.

Tatum attends a private Catholic school in Yakima, WA where she maintains a 3.7 GPA.  She is hard working on and off the court and I believe she will make a great asset to a number of both indoor and sand programs.

Thank you for your time.  If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.
