Hello, my name is Makayla Beckett and I am a 2023 varsity setter at Central Valley High School in Spokane Washington. I currently have a 3.816 GPA.

I am really working hard towards achieving my dream of playing beach volleyball in college. I play for Kōkua Beach Volleyball Club. I am currently training three times a week with two former AVP players. My U12, U13, and U14 years I won bids to USA National Beach Junior Championships.  As U14’s my partner and I won all local junior leagues and tournaments. We took first place in the AVA Alki Beach tournament located in Seattle, placed second in the Seaside Oregon Beach Tournament, and took first in Chelan Washington. We enjoy challenging ourselves and getting better by playing U18’s and many adults in our area.

I play indoor for Renovators U15 travel team. We generally run a 6-2 but there are times that my coach and team need me to step up and run a 5-1. I am currently 5’4. I have been told by many coaches that I am a quick learner and I am also very coachable, this is because I have grown up around the game. I have played indoor volleyball for 8 years and beach volleyball for 5 years and am very excited for the many years to come.

I have enrolled in two AP classes for my sophomore year. I am currently taking an online class through BYU so I can get ahead on credits. I plan on doing running start so I can graduate high school with my AA degree. In college I would like to pursue a degree in the medical field. I enjoy traveling and trying new things.
